The National Psychologist is an independent, bi-monthly newspaper which circulates to more than 30,000 practicing psychologists the U.S.A. We encourage businesses who want to reach this highly specialized target market to advertise in The National Psychologist. Many of our readers control sizable budgets and make important, buying decisions. Every reader is a potential customer.
We offer several sizes of display advertising in each issue of The National Psychologist — 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and full page ads are available. We offer multiple insertion discounts (on 1/4 pg ads or larger) and all rates quoted are net rates. All first time ads must be prepaid in full. Ads should be sent as a PDF file via e-mail. Ads sent on disk in any format other than a PDF will not be accepted due to possible incompatible systems. For size and rate information contact:

Classified Advertising Information
Classified ads run $9.00 per typeset line. There are about 35-40 characters and spaces per line and a $54.00 minimum charge for all classified ads. We do not offer multiple insertion discounts on classified advertising. To place classified ads, simply type the ad and fax it to: Marty Saeman at (614) 861-1996.
Deadlines
Space reservations for display ads are due no later than the 10th of the month prior to publication (ie: Feb. 10 for the March/ April issue). Camera-ready artwork is due no later than one week later (17th of the month prior to publication).
Classified ads are due no later than the 17th of the month prior to publication.
Readership & Demographics
Readers of The National Psychologist work in a variety of practice settings. More than 50% are in solo practice while another 33% work in group practice, clinics, hospitals, or public or private mental health centers. Other work settings where our readers practice include: VA Medical Centers, employee assistance programs, prisons, in managed care companies and on managed care panels, residential treatment facilities, military installations, outpatient settings and many additional practice locations.
Over 90% of our readers hold earned doctoral degrees, 65% are male and 35% female. Nearly 75% are between 36-55 years old and 17% are 56-65. Our readers are spread fairly evenly across the country with 27% in the East, 26% in the Midwest, 23% in the South and 22% in the West. In 1995, the average income of our readers was about $86,200 a year.
