Psychology has a lot to contribute to the effective functioning of our
political processes. Depth psychology has given us a wealth of information
that makes sense of the seemingly inexplicable and often self-defeating
nature of human behavior.

APA approves same-sex
marriage
and parenting rights

HONOLULU – The American Psychological Association approved the most
sweeping endorsement of gay rights by any mental health organization to
date in a pair of resolutions opposing any legal restriction on the rights
of gays, lesbians or bisexuals to marry or rear children.
Nebraska
psychologist
goes to
Florida police academy at 67
Moved by the events of Sept. 11, 2001,
a University of Nebraska at Omaha professor and an activist in the
Florida Psychological Association enrolled in and graduated from a
police training program in Tallahassee at the age of 67.
Psychology PAC appeal
nets 500 new givers
Around 1,300 practicing psychologists
responded generously to a plea from the APA Practice Organization to get
involved in the political process by writing checks to psychology's only
political action committee.
